According to the Watershed Protection Ordinance introduced in October 2013, if a development permit application proposes new construction or addition which falls within 100 feet of the centerline a waterways having drainage area of 64 acres or greater, within 100 feet of the ordinary high water mark of the Colorado river downstream from Longhorn Dam, or in a location with significant existing erosion, the City of Austin Watershed Protection Department requires the applicant to present a Erosion Hazard Zone Analysis report showing the extent of the potential future erosion.
